Creating sacred space
IF YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS TRANSMISSION THROUGH ZOOM I WILL CREATE SACRED SPACE FOR YOU. THIS INFORMATION IS FOR YOU TO COME BACK TO WHEN YOU FEEL READY TO TAKE THE RITES FORWARD. IT IS IMPORTANT TO CREATE AN INVITING ATMOSPHERE FOR THE LINEAGE TO COME THROUGH WHEN SHARING THE RITE. IF THE SPACE FEELS INVITING FOR YOU AND THE WOMEN RECEIVING THE INITIATION, THEN THE PLACE WILL FEEL INVITING FOR THE LINEAGE.
If the ceremony will happen indoors then you need to build an altar.
It does not need to be big or complicated, but it needs to provoke sacredness and beauty.
On a flat surface, like a table or bench, set a nice cloth and put a bowl of water in the middle.
This water will absorb the prayers and at the end of the ceremony, you will offer it to Mother Earth for the healing of her waters.
You can add thirteen candles around the water to honour the thirteen moons of the year and also to activate the altar with the flames.
Also, you can enhance the space and the ceremony by having flowers or petals in the altar.
After these guidelines use your own intuition and check directly with the lineage about adding anything else.
Ask a question and tune in for an answer remembering that you are also the lineage.
If you have access to a place in nature that feels good and inviting then you may perform the ceremony there.
It is especially ideal to be by a lake as it resembles the womb of Mother Earth and we want to share this healing with Her
Nonetheless, it can be under a tree, in a forest, by a big rock, by a river, a mountain, or any place that helps you feel the sacredness of life.
Either way, indoors or outdoors, it is important to share the healing with Mother Earth.
Every woman that receives the rite can offer a healing prayer for Her.
Indoors the women can use the flower petals to blow prayers into and then put the petals in the bowl of water.
In the end, you can gently pour that water into a river, a lake, or a little hollow on the Earth.
Invoking the Four Directions -
Creating Sacred Shamanic Space
Before performing a ritual or healing connection with Spirit or the Divine, as Shamans we invoke the Four Directions to hold and create a safe and protective loving container for the work.
In this sacred space, everyone is safe and all is guided and supported by Spirit and your truest Intent.
You can invoke your own guides, Divine Master or lineage however you choose, in whatever words or manner serves you and your path.
Here is a classic sacred Invocation to the Four Directions.
As always, your heartfelt sincerity and intent is more important than "getting it right." However as you practice, your invocations will evolve in accuracy and clarity of detail.
Invoking the Four Directions ~
To the winds of the South
Great serpent, Wrap your coils of light around us,
Teach us to shed the past the way you shed your skin,
To walk softly on the Earth. Teach us the Beauty Way.
To the winds of the West
Mother jaguar,
Protect our medicine space.
Teach us the way of peace, to live impeccably
Show us the way beyond death.
To the winds of the North.
Hummingbird, Grandmothers and Grandfathers, Ancient Ones
Come and warm your hands by our fires Whisper to us in the wind We honor you who have come before us, And you who will come after us, our children’s children.
To the winds of the East.
Great eagle, condor Come to us from the place of the rising Sun.
Keep us under your wing.
Show us the mountains we only dare to dream of.
Teach us to fly wing to wing with the Great Spirit.
Mother Earth. We’ve gathered for the healing of all your children.
The Stone People, the Plant People.
The four–legged, the two–legged, the creepy crawlers.
The finned, the furred, and the winged ones.
All our relations.
Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, to the Star nations.
Great Spirit, you who are known by a thousand names
And you who are the unnamable One.
Thank you for bringing us together.
"The opening of this sacred space is essentially an invocation, calling the spirits of the four cardinal directions—South, West, North, and East—and Mother Earth and Father Sky. Begin by facing the South direction and then each direction. turn, repeating the following procedure: Smudge – fan smoldering sage or incense—or blow scented water. Then hold your arm up, the palm of your hand facing outward, and recite the appropriate verse of the invocation, calling upon the archetype representative of that direction. The archetypes are more than symbols; they are primordial energies or spirits, having qualities and powers of their own. We summon serpent in the South, jaguar in the West, hummingbird in the North, and an eagle in the East. When summoning Mother Earth, actually touch the ground where you stand; when summoning Father Sky, reach to the heavens.
When you have finished your healing work, sacred space must be closed. Follow the same procedure as for the opening, acknowledging the four directions, Mother Earth and Father Sky. Thank the archetypes for being with you—serpent, jaguar, hummingbird, and eagle—and release their energies to return to the four corners of the Earth." You will develop your own relationship with each archetype over time.
